Bronze Casting Workshop

Sam Johnson, wooden boat builder and bronze caster, recently visited Gabriola Island to give a weekend course in bronze casting. 12 students filled our open shop and learnt to pound sand, pick moulds and pour molten bronze to make all sorts of neat things.

Barefoot has teamed up with Silva Bay Resort and Marina and the Silva Bay Shipyard School to help create a vibrant wooden boat theme for Silva Bay. Lots of ideas are in the works including an up-scaled Launch Festival for this year.
