Gabriola Island

Barefoot Wooden Boats is located on beautiful Gabriola Island, part of the Gulf Islands . British Columbia, Canada. Our waterfront location is at Silva Bay Resort and Marina which is also home for Silva Bay Shipyard school and the old Whithey Boatyard. The boatyard was once a new production yard during the war building ,mine sweepers and commercial vessels after that. Silva Bay is surrounded by the numerous Flat Top Islands which make for great exploration. Our shop is located one km from Silva Bay on five acres.

There is a hourly ferry from Nanaimo to Gabriola Is and three times a day float plane service. Nanaimo onVancouver Island is accessable by regular car ferry or fast passenger ferry from Vancouver. See links for more info.
